Blizzard subscription revenue from the recently released World of Warcraft rose about 223 percent in August compared to the month before following the launch of its classic vanilla version. That's according to a monthly report Superdata, who claimed that although this is an impressive increase in expenditure, clocks are still lower than the revenue brought in by August 2018 Battle for Azeroth expansion.

World of Warcraft is the third largest producer of August, up four places from the # 7 spot in July. Fortnite hang tight in at # 6, while this Playerunknown Battlegrounds make it back into the Top Ten in ninth place likely caused by repairs map Erangel received at the end of July. Platform game Roblox brought back, left in tenth place, the same as the previous month. Overall, digital consumer spending on all platforms rose two percent globally in August for a total of $ 8.9bn. PC and console made 38 percent of that figure, representing $ 3.4bn, while mobile take the lion's share of 62 percent.
